ATA Convention 2024: Sports & Games - A True Celebration of Skill and Sportsmanship
A Convention is a marvelous mix of cultural, literary, dance & musical events, new contacts, celebrity buzz, good food, knowledge enhancing sessions and many more. ATA leadership understands the meaning of ‘Health is Wealth’ a lot. As part of the upcoming Mega 18th Ata Convention and Youth Conference, ATA is organizing a series of thrilling sports and games in many cities across America, showcasing exceptional talent, sportsmanship and community spirit, providing memorable moments to the participants and spectators alike. Various sports which were organized for Men / Boys and Women / Girls are Badminton, Volleyball, Carroms, Cricket, Chess and Pickle Ball. The ATA Badminton Men's Doubles tournament, held at ABC, Suwanee saw a significant turnout with around 160 registrations across various categories. The competition was fierce, especially during the Intermediate, Semifinals and Finals. We had an intense competition in cricket which was held at Shakerag Park, with many participating teams and a huge audience. Chess tournament was conducted virtually, facilitated by Chesstronics and led by the ATA Sports team. There were 200 plus kids and adults from many states in the USA, participating in both rated and unrated sections. This was the first time the chess tournament was conducted as part of the ATA convention.
The highlight of all the events was the ATA Women's Pickle Ball Tournament, held at Fowler Park Rec Center. Organized by the ATA women sports team led by Neetu Chauhan, the tournament featured singles and doubles categories, catering to players of all skill levels. The ATA women’s badminton 8tournament brought together players from diverse backgrounds and skill levels. The event featured both singles and doubles categories at beginner and intermediate levels, offering participants a chance to compete individually and as part of a team. One of the most remarkable aspects of the tournament was the sense of empowerment it instilled in the participants. We are thrilled with the success of our recent sports events, said Sports Committee Chair Ananth Chilukuri and Neetu Chauhan, Women's Sports Chair. The level of talent and sportsmanship displayed by our participants was truly inspiring. We extend our gratitude to everyone involved, including the players, organizers, volunteers, and sponsors, for making these events a resounding success. There are more upcoming sporting events in the pipeline, across other cities, they added.
The success of these events was made possible by the dedication and hard work of the 18th ATA Convention and Youth Conference organizing sports committees, Regional Coordinators including Ananth Chilukuri, Neetu Chauhan, Srikanth Papa, Venkat Rohith, Ranjith Chennadi, Harikrishna Sikakolli, Subhash R Reddy, Srinivas Pasupuleti, Satishreddy Avuthu, Divya Nettam, Saritha Chekkila, and Vasavi Chittaluri. Their meticulous planning and execution ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. The ATA Conference team looks forward to organizing more engaging and competitive sports events in the future, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition within the community. The prize distribution ceremony will be held at the ATA conference in front of a huge crowd with celebrities. Also, ATA is providing snacks, beverages and meals for everyone, during these events.
