Meeting with K.V Kamath, Chairman of BRICS Bank

The Chief Minister held a meeting with Mr. K.V Kamath, Chairman of BRICS Bank now known as the New Development Bank.

Mr. K.V Kamath offered to send a team to explore opportunities in areas where they can work closely with Andhra Pradesh. He also offered to extend support in terms of funds and knowhow.

Mr. K.V Kamath said “Chinese funding is also possible in addition to the New Development Bank funding. We can bring their technology”.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked if he would suggest the names of the Chinese companies to be approached, and how to go about it, to which Mr. Kamath agreed. 

In a one to one meeting with Chief Minister, Mr. Anil Agarwal of Vedanta Resources explained the various CSR activities taken up by him in India. Vedanta is promoting quality education in schools and Anganwadis. And at present, they are looking to strengthen their activities.   

Chief Ministe briefed Mr. Anil Agarwal about the rich mineral resources available in Andhra Pradesh and also said that he is taking up a lot of activities to make Andhra Pradesh an industrial state that generates employment. The Chief Minister said “I want not just extraction and sale of raw minerals but value addition.”

Mr. Anil Agarwal mentioned about Nadghars that he started in North India which provided education to school children.

Later, he offered to extend the same initiative in AP and start 100 centres as a pilot.
