TAGC 2018 Dusshera and Deepawali Celebrations

TAGC- Telugu Association of Greater Chicago (First Telugu association in North America) celebrated Dusshera and Deepawali festival with Chicago land area Telugu families at the Naperville Community Church, Yellow Box, Naperville, IL 60540.

The event was a grand success with an overwhelming response from the Telugu community with over 1000 guests in attendance. TAGC conducted Dusshera and Deepawali celebrations with cultural programs with local talent, along with live Musical event with many singers including Playback Singer Anudeep Dev who came from India, Praveen Jailgama, Deepti Nag, Ramya Kapila and Shailaja Merugu.

The Auditorium was well decorated with welcome banners  by decoration committee and team. TAGC membership committee welcomed all guests with a smile. 

TAGC President, Mrs. Jyothi Chintalapani, welcomed & wished good health, prosperity, and wealth to all the guests and started the program with Lord Ganesha prayer, along with the cultural team and Board of Directors. In the Dusshera and Deepawali cultural event, 25 local programs with 250  participants performed a variety of programs and shows, keeping the audience entertained and involved. 

Variety of programs including classical, Fusion, Folk & traditional, Dussehra & Deepavali theme based dances were performed at the event.

TAGC President thanked & congratulated Cultural Committee Chair Ranga Reddy and team members and volunteers who worked hard for more than 8 weeks to make the event successful. 

Cultural Committee Chair Ranga Reddy thanked Co-chairs Uma Avadutha, Swetha Janamanchi and Madhavi Konakalla for their help throughout the year.

Membership Committee Chair Praveen Vemulapalli thanked audience for making the event so successful even during the bad weather with Snow falling all day.

TAGC President-elect Ram Billakanti introduced 2019 Executive Committee team and Secretary-elect Venkat Gunuganti introduced new Board of Directors(2019-21) to the audience.

TAGC president Jyothi Chintalapani and rest of the Board of Directors recognized and felicitated Mr. Ram Ade (President -2017) for his services and dedication towards the organization with flower bouquet and shawl. 

TAGC served delicious dinner with a variety of food items in which Food committee Chair, Srinivas Kandru with his team & volunteers, did a wonderful job in serving dinner for such a huge crowd in the allocated time. Local Indian restaurant Cool Mirchi management supported TAGC with their best qualitative and quantitative food in allocated budget.

Anudeep brought celebrations with cell phone lights shining in the auditorium with one of the best song.

TAGC Board of Directors presented Anudeep Dev, Praveen Jailgama, Deepti Nag, Ramya Kapila and Shailaja Merugu with flower bouquet and shawls.

TAGC President, Mrs. Jyothi Chintalapani, thanked the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and volunteers who have worked for weeks in planning and preparations to make this event memorable. She also thanked all the participants, their parents, teachers and the guests for their enthusiastic show of support throughout the evening. She also thanked sponsors for giving back to the community and requested TAGC members to make use of services provided by sponsors.
